Casas de hitos is located in one of the most privileged natural environments of the peninsula.
An area with more than 22 species of aerial invertebrates, 414 species of epigeal invertebrates (Carabids, ants and spiders), 7 species of amphibians such as the tortoises or the horseshoe snake, which coexist with 12 different species of bats (Chiroptera).
A paradise where 103 species of birds coexist, including almost a thousand #cranes and other majestic birds such as the imperial eagle, black vulture, black stork, white stork, marsh harrier, bar-tailed night heron and ortega, Elanios, Red Kite, Black Kite, Short-eared Owl, Eagle Owl, Short-eared Owl, Short-toed Eagle, Stone-curlew, Sparrowhawk, Booted Eagle, and other smaller ones such as the Raccoon, Lesser Spotted Woodpecker, Whimbrel or Eurasian Spoonbill.
Not forgetting, of course, mammals as rare and protected as the Iberian Lynx or wildcat.

That is why we can say that our farm has become a true sanctuary for cranes, due to the symbiosis of the almond tree plantation, the cranes feed on the almonds and the farm’s own irrigation ponds.
